Reto Caduff is a visual storyteller. Winner of the German Documentary Award for Conny Plank – The Potential Of Noise, he splits his time between directing, producing, curating and publishing. Trained in Swiss typography and graphic design, he now points cameras at the world and tries to make sense of what comes back. He’s the publisher behind Sturm & Drang Publishers, the force behind creative agency IMAGE and CONTENT, and recently helmed the ambitious LiveLab Bern project — an exhibition, a film and a photobook made alongside four photographers from the legendary Magnum Photos agency. He currently works on a feature-length documentary on desert architect Albert Frey.

Reto Caduff started his career playing in Synth-Pop bands and running a record label as a teenager in the 80s, cut his teeth on music videos and at Swiss public radio and TV, then spent two decades living and working in New York and Los Angeles, directing movies, TV shows, music videos and pretty much everything in between. His documentaries range from the 2025 release Einfach Machen – She Punks from 1977 to today to Krokus, Charlie Haden – Rambling Boy and The Visual Language Of Herbert Matter. His photobook Freckles sits on the shelves of people with good taste, and his photography has appeared in Travel & Leisure, brand eins and Swiss International Airlines Magazine.

Many of his recent visual contributions were made for art institutions such as Getty Research Institute, Marian Goodman Gallery, Kunsthaus Graz and Kestnergesellschaft.
